ecclesiastes is my favorite book in the old testament. the new jps translation, tanakl, the holy scriptures, 1988. is the best version i've read.

neil young is so cool.

koheleth, son of david, king of jerusalem at a time of power and wealth. endless riches, countless slaves. women and war. saw it, had it, did it all. the only thing he could see as an appropriate approach to life was to enjoy the company of friends. eat well. enjoy a drink.

the priest wrote in at the end that we should worship god. but he was just campaigning for his big lie club. the other son of david, a few generations later, said it in a similar way.

and in between was a king from another race of humans. same dna. sid. later buddha.

and what it comes down to is, this is it. what we have in our face.

i stood by a waterfall in guyana. i could see what i was seeing. it was pretty obvious. but not what to do about it. other than take it in and like it. or enjoy not liking it. just for balance. or simple contradiction.

_peace duck stop_

we'll wrap it up with black sabbath. their first recording. 35 year old production. even at the time it wasn't the best. but the music is cool. production can be over rated. or a waste on account the music sucks.

i was thinking of, luckily short, the. time. when we had access to some top grade pain killers. we actually went to a church function. i weighed in at 600 pounds. every movement had to be approved of by my body before my head could decide what to do. that evening and one other i did, put me off pain killers. i've become a friend of pain. very many people are addicted to anti pain pills. i understand it. but i also understand how fast 80 years goes by even when paying full attention.

smoke grass and forget the rest.

so grant. whatever. i'm glad we had some kicks together. i still look for cheap kicks. and get them. little love snacks are the best.

maybe you went and got married. somehow i doubt it. but one could say the same of me. i did once. it was fun.

fuck. i'd do it again.

or something like it.
