THE NEW NEW TESTAMENT

Paul's first letter to the EPHESIANS

chapter 01

Paul is all happy with the Ephesians. Gets a little science fiction on us. Give much thanks to God on account they are good little believers.

vs. 10: This plan, which God will complete when the time is right, is to bring all creation together, everything in heaven and on earth, with Christ as head. EQ.

Heaven is a big place. Expanding at light speed, or faster, 13.7 billion years. So let us first deal with earth. And to say it yet again, it was not the will of Jesus to be the one holy dictator over the whole universe. Or even earth. For, he was a man. And a clever man. Thus he would find the notion bloody idiotic.

vs. 13: You believed in Christ, and God put his stamp of ownership on you by giving you the Holy Spirit he had promised. EQ.

He didn’t anything. It has done everything, slowly over billions of years. Things didn’t start getting personal till we came along. Ownership is a human concept.

“Some animals are very territorial.”

“Fare enough.”

vs. 18: I ask that your minds may be opened to see his light... EQ.

It is not his. The light. Light comes from things like the sun. Now this may give us a clue to the origins of this religion. The concept of Jesus Christ is very much in reference to the sun. Christianity is very much a sun cult. And there is a pretty obvious reason why prehistoric humans would make a big thing of the sun.

“Are you going to tell us.”

“No. It’s a secret.”

vs. 21: Christ rules there above all heavenly rulers, authorities, powers, and lords; he has a title superior to all titles of authority in this world and in the next. EQ.

Paul. Relax. Jesus was a man. Another bastard child.

“Unless he is referring to the sun.”

vs. 23: The church is Christ’s body, the completion of him who himself completes all things everywhere. EQ.

No. Get out of the church. Jesus don’t like them. He don’t want no religion.

Love life. Love each other.

Fuck the church. Shut up the Pope.

“He might mean the body of the people, that can be referred to as a church.”

“Also silly. For it is a body of believers holding onto concepts from which we have moved beyond.”

“The sun is still the center of our solar system and the foundation of everything on earth.”

“Yes, we know that now. We do not need to make a religion out of it to be reminded that the sun is there.”

chapter 02

Paul is talking around in circles, like going around the sun. If we want to extrapolate greatly, we could say before there was a sun, we did not exist, but since God, let us say the universe, went and made a sun that bore a few offspring, planets and other stuff, we could have a place to evolve.

“Do you think he was trying to explain that.”

“Not likely consciously, but perhaps subconsciously, instinctively, he, or the writers before him that were always trying to figure out the heavens on account they could see them, maybe they put it in their stories. Maybe they had some basic understanding of cosmic proceedings.”

“Jesus Christ is our sun. And God is our universe.”

“Something like that. And we are the personifiers. Making the universe fit to our perspective. The imaginative story tellers.”

Let’s take a short break from Paul and recap very quickly a story of H. G. Wells: ‘The Country of the Blind’.

A man is hiking a mountain trail and falls into a valley. Hurts himself in the fall.

And he is found and taken care of. When he wakes up he sees that everyone is blind. Blind so many generations that they have no eyes.

They don’t even know what eyes are. They don’t know what blind means.

Our hero, when he is fit again, fails to follow their marked pathways because he doesn’t need the guidelines. He has eyes.

“He’s mad. Do you hear how he moves with no understanding of the guidelines.”

“It must be those funny things in his head.”

“We’ll have to remove them.”

He was in love with one of the young women.

But. He didn’t want his eyes plucked out. So he left the valley of the blind.

“Well that is a short recap.”

“It is a story that is better read in the original. But the reason we mention it is the parallel to the world we are in where most are virtually blind, as Jesus and others so often said. They look but they do not see. They listen but they do not hear. They read but they do not understand.”

vs. 15: He abolished the Jewish Law with its commandments and rules, in order to create out of the two races one new people... EQ.

Jesus in the story abolished the Jewish Law because it was bullshit. The concept that Jews are any different or preferred because they chop off their foreskins and have a book with God written in it is nonsense.

When it comes down to it. There are no Jews. It is just a club.

“It is a fairy tale.”

“A club based on a bloody fairy tale.”

chapter 03

vs. 1: For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles, pray to God. EQ.

“Prisoner of Christ. Excuse me. Is he not in prison for being a shit disturber.”

“Paul is looking for another go fuck yourself.”

“Well, give him one.”

“No. We don’t want to be too redundant.”

vs. 3: God revealed his secret plan and made it known to me. EQ.

“Oh, God figured he would give the secret plan to Paul. And lucky for us God told Paul he was permitted to reveal God’s plan to us.”

“Damn good thing we have Paul.”

“He is without a doubt the most important secret revealer in all of the universe.”

vs. 6: The secret is that by means of the gospel the Gentiles have a part with the Jews in God’s blessings... EQ.

“What. The secret is his writings.”

“Wow. As simple as that. 13.7 billion years after the beginning of this universe, along comes Paul and reveals God’s big secret that God kept secret until finally Paul came along.”

“He really is Paul the Super Jew. He is the biggest hero ever. Praise be to Paul.”

“Well, hang on. He might be bullshitting us.”

“Why would he do that. Are you suggesting that God didn’t reveal the secret of the universe to Paul so that Paul could save us from a bloody road to hell.”

“There is no one true secret revealing God. No chosen race. No chosen species.”

“And here I thought we had the whole thing solved.”

Moses kept God to himself. Paul is good enough to allow everyone to hang around with God.

Vs. 12: In union with Christ and through our faith in him we have the boldness to go into God’s presence with all confidence. EQ.

“That’s nice.”

Vs. 13: I beg you, then, not to be discouraged because I am suffering for you; it is all for your benefit. EQ.

“Paul the Super Jew is suffering for us. How sweet. He really is the greatest.”
