TORAH

genesis

chapter 13:

So Abram went up into Nagab with his prostituted wife and Lot. Abram was a wealthy fellow now with his gold, silver and cattle. He eventually came back to his first station with the alter and gave the Lord a call.

Lot also had flocks and herds and tents. So that the land couldn't support them on account there wasn't enough there for them together while they were both so great. And the herdsmen for Lot's cattle and Ab's cattle were always fighting. The Canaanites and Perizzites were then dwelling in the land.

Ab said to Lot, "You go one way and I'll go the other." So they did. Ab stayed and Lot pitched his tent near Sodom. That's the city with all the sinners. Wicked people.

And the Lord told Abram to have a look around. "All will be yours and your offspring will have it forever. Your offspring will be countless. Like sand. It's all for you, Ab." Ab thought that was all right and moved his tent to Mamre and built an Alter.

chapter 14

Now there was some fighting going on, four kings against five. All cousins according to the theory that they were all decedents of Noah. But no one likes anyone when it comes to resources and land.

The king of Sodom and Gomorrah jumped into a bitumen pit and the rest ran for the hills. The invaders took everything out of Sodom and Gomorrah. They also took Lot, the Son of Ab's brother, and all his possessions. They likely forgot about Lot being one of God's favorites.

Ab took 318 retainers and went looking for Dan. They popped in at night and took their things back. Lot and his things and women and people as well.

When he returned from defending Chedorlaomer and the kings with him, the king of Sodom jumped out of his pit. And they all met there in the valley of the kings and had a bit of drink and a bite to eat. One of the most high priest fellows told Ab he was great and his God was even better. On account that God killed the enemy. God was good at that.

The king of Sodom told Ab he could keep his things but he'd like his people back. The city was rather slow without them. Ab said he could have it all so he wouldn't go around telling people Ab was rich with Sodom's cash.

chapter 15

God told Abram not to worry. But Ab was worried about not having any offspring. And he didn't want his steward to inherit all his cash. The Lord said, "Look at the sky." "Okay." "Count the stars. The number shall be your offspring." "That's quite a few. More than ten."

Ab wanted to know how he'd get all the land. God said, "Get me a three-year-old heifer, she goat, ram, turtledove, and a young bird. The turtle dove didn't need to be a three-year-old. It was more a mammal thing. So Ab fetched them and cut them in two, placing each half neatly opposite the other so that everything looked nice and orderly, even if the place was flooded in hot blood. He didn't cut up the bird. That's more the thanksgiving thing and that didn't come for another few thousand years. Buzzards wanted to eat the dead carcases but Ab sent them off to look for other dead things. The sun was about to set and Ab fell asleep. God told him that his people would be slaves but not to sweat it, in a few hundred years it would all be okay. God would see to it that their enemy got their just rewards.

With a flaming torch and whatnot, God promised Ab he'd have all the land where other people already were. He promised war and genocide.
