THE NEW NEW TESTAMENT

Paul's first letter to the COLOSSIANS

chapter 01

Paul starts another letter the same. This time using mostly the word: God. God is a nice word. In English it is close to Gold. This doesn’t seem to be his motivation with the Colossians. He leans more to the Christian ideal than the Jewish law and ritual in this letter. And this is a step in a better direction. A direction, of course, it not the destination. But at least he is working away from Moses. Moses is for morons. No offence. Morons seem to need Law.

“So they know what they are doing wrong.”

“So they can be put in prisons for cheap labour.”

Christianity, though not what Jesus Christ wanted or taught, is closer to common sense.

Vs. 17: Christ existed before all things, and in union with him all things have their proper place. 18. He is the head of his body, the church; he is the source of the body’s life. He is the first-born Son, who was raised from death, in order that he alone might have the first place in all things. EQ.

This can only make sense if Paul is referring to the sun. All things in our solar system have what turns out for us to be a proper place. And if it wasn’t we wouldn’t be here. Even Jupiter plays a part in our survival by acting as a big vacuum cleaner and sucking in, with its large gravity field, many asteroids. Until we learn how to harvest them, and this will be soon, for they are often rich in metals such as nickel, it is better for us, just ask the big dinosaurs, that we are not hit by asteroids too often.

There are those who are certain Paul is talking of Jesus Christ the man. If he is, he is way off base.

It is not clear how it matters that Christ is first born. True the first born son often gets a great deal of attention from everyone in the family, especially grandparents. They usually think the world of the first son. Your narrator can tell you. Biologically or physically it doesn’t much matter. It is our religious traditions that make it matter. And part of that has to do with the fact that the firstborn son is sometimes a bastard child. Often of a king, sometimes a soldier. Like many of the heroes of the scripture. They would be blessed by the Lord because the Lord was the biological father and had an interest in the child. This was the case for John the Baptist and Jesus Christ. Both were first born bastard sons of the Lord.

There is something else, of course, with firstborn sons, firstborn daughters don’t usually play a role in patriarchal history, they are technically bastards. The word doesn’t mean what it used to mean for most people but in the Laws of Moses, a bastard, which Moses was, doesn’t get to go to heaven with those born under wedlock. So they tend to reject their religion since they don’t have much choice. And though this seems harsh, it is almost a guarantee that many bastards will take time out of their busy schedule to reject their religion. And with this built in clause of bastards not being permitted into heaven. Eventually, the bastards will bring an end to religious lies that tell us heaven is somewhere other than here.

“That’s a lot of reading into what Paul said.”

“It is not easy to dig out the genius of Paul for he doesn’t seem to posses common sense, the main ingredient to genius. Part of the reason Paul often come across as a raving lunatic is simply because we have lost much of the sense in translation, manipulate rewritings by drunk monks, and the mutating of the language. It is a from of archeology to understand the scripture.”

“So maybe it is better left unread and we learn it from the priests and preachers.”

“Unfortunately, if they were to tell the truth, they would all be out of a job. So no. It is left to the non-believers.”

vs. 27: God’s plan is to make known his secret to his people, this rich and glorious secret which he has for all people. And the secret is that Christ is in you, which means that you will share in the glory of God. EQ.

Well look at the brain on Paul. Christ is in us. All. It is a way of being. Not a thing. Not a real dead man icon in the church. Christ, the nature of the elements. Instinct. Common sense. Wakefulness. It is simply an evolutionary step. And it is independent of belief.

This is a big secret and Paul deserves credit for making it clear in the written word. It is the wick of the time bomb. Read it and understand it. And if you still believe, read it again for it is not to be believed but understood. This one bit of understanding will set you free. From all authority.

“It don’t mean you don’t gotta go to work to pay the bills.”

“No. It just means everyone is responsible for their own salvation for it comes from within.”

chapter 02

Paul must have heard me bitching about his tediousness. He lays it on the line for the Colossians.

Vs. 2: I do this in order that they may be filled with courage and may be drawn together in love, and so have the full wealth of assurance which true understanding brings. In this way they will know God’s secret, which is Christ himself. EQ.

It is very likely that in the original, to say ‘himself’ would be equivalent for post patriarchal language to say, ‘itself’. And God would be translated to life. Evolution. Instinct. Universe. God meant: ‘I don’t rightly know what’. Most times.

vs. 8: See to it, then, that no one enslaves you by means of the worthless deceit of human wisdom which comes from the teachings handed down by men and from the ruling spirits of the universe, and not from Christ. EQ.

“Don’t believe what men tell you who have something to sell you. Most everything we are told we need, we don’t. Christ here could be understood as inherent common sense. Instinct.”

vs. 9: For the full content of divine nature lives in Christ, in his humanity, 10: and you have been given full life in union with him. He is supreme over every spiritual ruler and authority. EQ.

My man, Paul. Our instinct. Our common sense is supreme over the buggers handing down the rules.

Again, ‘him’ is misleading. He means It. Or hesheit. Christ is in the nature of us. Human nature.

vs. 14: He cancelled the unfavourable record of our debts with its binding rules and did away with it completely by nailing it to the cross. 15. And on that cross Christ freed himself from the power of the spiritual rulers and authorities; he made a public spectacle of them by leading them as captives in his victory procession. 16. So let no one make rules about what you eat or drink or about holy days or the New Moon Festival or the Sabbath. EQ.

Keep going Paul.

vs. 20: ... Why, then, do you live as though you belonged to this world? Why do you obey such rules as 21. “Don’t handle this,” “Don’t taste that,” “Don’t touch the other”? EQ.

Paul. Is that you. Rock on.

chapter 03

Paul goes back to his foggy self. Mostly telling the Christians how to be. Much of it a repeat of other letters he has written. Most of it not too out of control except for his problem with sex.

And this holy matrimony tradition of the Lords of rape is out of control. Nothing against it but it is but one way to be and does not mean there can’t be another way. Almost every religion makes a big deal of it. Every damn Hollywood film sells the same thing. Because Hollywood is a Jewish company. Judaism 4.0. And they make it clear that sex outside an official couple is wrong. The thing to aspire to is a man and woman and 2.3 children.

And this is simply tradition. Not a physical law. Not a biological law. Extramarital sex happens as often as not. So why must it be a crime. Why must we believe that marriage mean ownership of genitalia.

vs. 18: Wives, submit to your husbands, for that is what you should do as Christians. EQ.

Again, other translations will say because that’s what the Lord likes. Father. Lord. Patriarchy. Oh tediousness.

Men of beliefs. Woman is not below man. Sexual hierarchy is an illusion. It is natural that the male must do the dance to attract the female. Eve did not sin when she took from the tree of knowledge. She was the animal that wanted to become a goddess. Evolution includes the mind that is of the brain. And the brain we have has become so big that women have a hard time squeezing out babies.

“There it is. Knowledge is a curse to women on account it is related to the size of our brain, thus the size of our skull. That is the pain of childbirth.”

“Good. I like that. Very simple and succinct.”

End to the Men’s Club.
